Cell phones

How many people do you know who do not own a cell phone ? not many. I know i can't go anywhere without mine. Why is this ? We, as teenagers, like gossip. We thrive on it. Our cell phones are just one other way we can contact people in order to find out the news on friends, or random's. What if everyone had to go for a couple weeks without using or owning a cell phone ? Could you do it ? why or why not ? I could probably do without it if i had to. I am not obssesed with it, though it is nice to be able to communicate to friends whenever you need. It's the same with other newer communications, such as msn. My computer broke down not too long ago and it was better for me to not have that to go to all the time. I started to do more productive things, then just sitting by a computer desk. I think we probably would be better off without msn, or facebook. People would start being more concerned with themselves then other people. Take care of their own body, instead of sitting around gaining weight. Perhaps if you'd expirence doing without the intermet for a day, you would understand more what i am trying to convey.

the proposal...

This weekend i went to see the new movie to theatres, The Proposal. I found it to be a fabulous mmovie ! i reccomend it very highly. It comes out on June 19th, last night was the "sneek preview", you would be suprised how many people actually knew about this movie. The theatre was packed and the tickets were sold out. Sandra Bullock, features in the film, as a nasty, and stricked boss, who is origionally born in Canada, and gets evicted. She creates a plan to have her secretary(Ryan Reynolds)marry her in order to stay in the country. Their marriage wasn't, however, as simple as they thought out... and that's were the true story begins.

Life after high school...

This is my last year attending KDHS. It's a freaky thought moving on to college with my whole life still ahead of me... but such a relief that i have this opportunity to do more with my life, and start off my career. I'm going into Esthetics, then hair, and know for sure that it is something i would like to do for the rest of my life. I was late deciding what i wanted to go to college for, however. If you don't know for sure what it is that you want to do, wait it out, or your just wasting a lot of money and will most likely drop out knowing it's not what you want to do, and that it was a mistake to jump into something due to convenience. Out of college i hope to get a fresh start, to meet a lot of new people and to participate in tons of activities, to be more active within the school, get good grades, but also get out of it as much as humanly possible. It's a new chapter within my life, and my goal is to make it a chapter i will never forget, nor want to forget, like a lot of the chapters thus far. It's sad how desperately i want to escape from this small town, and to live in a big city, which yes. will be soon... but unfortunately, just not soon enough.

I Need a Vacation?

I'm 18... and i need a vacation, a trip to get away from my life, and everything that is currently going on within it. Is society pushing us, as teenager's to grow up faster then we are capable ? Making us choose what we want to do for the rest of our lives, when we are only in grade 9. Through my high school career i've wanted to be an actress, a journalist, a vet, a musician, a fashion designer, an interior desginer, and more... At 18, in grade 12, i have finally decided what i want to do and where i want to go. You may think in grade 9 that you've got it all figured out, you have your life on track and you know exactly who you are, if that same path continues, even when you graduate, i give you props. I'm still learning about who i am everyday, and learning new life lessons for the future. Will i ever truly know where i am going ? in my honest opinion, no. I dont think any of us will know where life is going to take us, you will grow older and your perspective on life will change, your goals, your ambitions, will change. Not to say that every person will have this happen, cause you may be one of the few people that will have their heart and mind set on something, and never give up on it no matter how old you are, or how much your perspective has changed, if it has at all. Not only do you have to grow up faster in the way of education, but also in the way of your personal life. You wont ever get away from people who will, even if you thought they could be trusted, stab you in the back. I know first hand what it's like to have a friend, that you thought was a good friend but found out that they werent a friend at all. At the time it's devestating, but you move on and find new, better, more trustworthy friends, and your life goes on. What i learned from that was to not trust anyone, untill you really know who they are, and why they are apart of your life. Relationships, maybe not just with a friend but with that significant other. I never started dating till i was in grade 10, and honestly, if you do before then it's a real waste of your time, cause it's not taken seriously, just more like a game than a relationship. Telling your friends on the playground you have a "boyfriend" of a "girlfriend", perhaps even hold eachothers hands at recess over on the swings... it's a joke, and just one more way kids are growing up way too fast. Breakup's suck, you get to a point where you just get so fed up with it all, that you stop looking for a boyfriend/girlfriend, and just live your own life, without the concern of where he/she is, what he/she's doing all the time. Is it even worth worrying about ? if they're going to cheat on you, they'll do it no matter how worried you are. So all those nights passeing the halls wondering when they'll call, or text... isnt worth it, and wont change anything. In the end of it all, your better off on your own, until you find someone you know, without a doubt is the one for you, and will respect and care for you, for who you are. From my relationships i've learned, not to take it seriously, guard you heart, and be strong no matter what gets thrown your way... live your life a day at a time, an simply live. Dont think too much cause you'll never truly understand why other people do what they do, to in turn hurt you. Random tips on life ? yes, but trust me, those tips can help anyone with the things that we, as teenagers make us stress over, and consume our thoughts with on a daily basis.

Dreams

Everyone, at some point in time has had a dream. Not a dream as in, one day i wish to be America's Next Top Model, or be on the cover of a Vogue magazine. I mean a dream that you actually live in your mind, while you're asleep. Have you ever had a dream that was unexplainable? A dream you have no idea how you conjered in one night alone? Ever wondered the meaning to those dreams? What if there was a meaning, if everyone's dreams told us more about our future or explained to us more about ourselves, more than we've ever realised. Sometimes several people have had similar dreams at some point. For example, a dream, or a part of a dream that i have had and other friends have too is falling, falling down, or off of something and then waking up before we hit solid ground. I'd like to think there is a meaning to the adventures we take in our dreams. I figure, the littlest things in life that we wouldnt see to have a special, or hidden meanings actually do. This makes life alittle more interesting if you ask me. According to Craig Hamilton-Parker, the author of the book "Hidden Meaning of Dreams" the act of falling in a dream, means that you're having a hard time "letting go" in real life. The book "The Hidden Meaning of Dreams" also says about falling, that if you fall into mudd in your dream, it means that someone is telling lies about you. I dont think thins is entirely true... probably just something the author thought up randomly, but i do believe that your dreams all have hidden meanings, or else why would you have certain dreams and not others? or why have dreams at all? I had a dream last night... it was about stranger's comming into my home uninvited. They were trying to protect my family and i from everyday occurences, but ended up being some what evil. Im not sure what this could mean by any stretch of the imagination, but it's pretty messed up, which alot of my dreams usually are? Perhaps phsycologically im unstable, which would be the meaning as to why the strangers were trying to help? Would it be crazy for me to look more into these dreams? or to just leave them alone and assume they are just dreams, and thats all they are, without any other meanings?
